Ranthambore in Rajasthan is situated at the juncture of Aravali range and Vindhya Range. It is a green cluster within the famous Indian desert. In ancient era Ranthambore was used by the kings of Jaipur as the hunting place. In 1955 the place became Game Sanctuary. In 1980 Ranthambore was announced as a Tiger reserve of India. It came to be known as National Park in 1984. The place is full of Banyan trees, Mango grove and one can see marvelous natural beauty in Ranthambore. Ranthambore is famous for its dense forests, streams and wild animals. Number of wild species dwells in this place. You can enjoy Elephant safari and jeep safari which provide you the normal activities of the wild animals.

It is a project by India Government for conservation of Tigers. It is the first sanctuary which has entitled as the Project Tiger Reserve. It is the home for wild animals like leopards, crocodiles, macaques, langurs, sloth bears, wild boars, jungle cats, gazelles, hares, Sambar, spotted deer, civets, and blackbuck. There are also number of birds inhabits in Ranthambore. In Ranthambore forest there is place called Jogi Mahal which has world famous thickest Banyan tree. Other than wild life sanctuary Ranthambore is also famous for the ruins of Ranthambore Fort. This ruin can place you to the glorified past of Ranthambore.
